When my wife was asking/telling me she wanted to do a home birth, I was unsure about it. After her sending numerous videos and a lot of information, I was curious. After searching social media for someone to assist in guiding us along the path and no luck, Katrina responded to my wife. We gave her a call one evening and she was completely open on how to go about everything. She guided and educated us on what could happen, things to look for, what to expect, and so much more. After hiring her, she wasn’t just someone we hired, she became close to us and really was there for everything. She wanted the best for our family and was supportive of what we wanted. She was strict enough to make sure our baby boy was heathy, and my wife was doing the right things during pregnancy(even though my wife fought it a few times). She always stayed behind us but was honest about concerns she had or even telling us without following her guidance, things might not go our way. After finally getting things better and within a safe range for Katrina’s numbers and all reviews from other doctors, Katrina was happy with how things were going and let us know. She told us everything we needed to know getting closer to the day and gave us a list of everything we would need for her to help. The month of our son’s due date she followed up more and helped calm us as first-time parents even. I thought I would be a nervous wreck like most first time fathers but after remembering what Katrina told us I relaxed A LOT. She had no problem answering text messages or phone calls at anytime of day/night. Even day of early labor she answered on first call. She calmed my wife down and a few hours later was there with us. She stayed professional and made sure everyone was ok. She never rushed anything, even comforting my wife along the way. The hours leading up to our boys delivery, she would communicate enough to make sure I was ok and there was nothing wrong, even if there were small hiccups along the way. Final moments of him arriving she immediately handed our boy to my wife. Comforted her and continue to check on her and him to make sure all was great. She never pushed anyone aside and was ok with me being in the way sometimes. After cutting his cord and I was able to hold him for the first time, she never stopped what she needed to do. She helped my wife and after it all came to a rest she checked him out more and gathered all his information. She gave us all the time we needed with our son and continues to check in on us somehow. Katrina is amazing at what she does. If anyone needs assistance, I would highly recommend her and know she will be there for them no different than how she was with us. I cannot thank her enough for being there for this wonderful moment.
